Westlife have insisted that they are no longer concerned with breaking America.
The Irish boyband cracked the US Top 20 with their debut single 'Swear It Again' in 2000, but have never scored a follow-up hit across the pond.
Their latest album Where We Are features production from several prestigious American producers, including Ryan Tedder and Brian Kennedy, prompting rumours that they are plotting another assault on the lucrative US market.
However, group member Mark Feehily claimed that this is merely a coincidence.
"We looked outside the box on this album and that brought us to America as well as other places in the world - London, Ireland, everywhere. It wasn't a conscious decision to break the States or anything," he told DS.
"With America, we're over the fact that we haven't broken it. If it ever comes up as an opportunity, we'll definitely take it, but we don't design things to try and break America anymore."
Westlife's Where We Are LP charted at number two behind Susan Boyle's I Dreamed A Dream on yesterday's UK albums chart.
too bad for their American fans. thecommitted.com, a Westlife fansite is owned by an American named Susan and hundreds of people are visiting the site evryday from America which is great being barely unknown in US.
I'm sad because it's TOO LATE to do this. They must done this during the prime of their career.
There music this era are mess compare to there songs before.
They would have be forgotten in the UK yrs ago if Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell didnt bring them on the X factor year in year out with their awful cover versions where all the chavs see them and d/load their awful music.
