Well most Indian people love the video, so who am I to criticize the video. Beyoncé looks stunning in the video and we all know she likes to travel the world and experience other cultures.

Cultural appropriation as a whole is total ******** but the same people defending this while being the first ones to slam Taylor, Gaga, Katy, Iggy (especially with the Bounce video) etc for the exact same things need to stop. I'm also seeing some people say "well she travels the world and learns the cultural it's okay!!!!"

If one of those ladies were to have a "a video shot by an Indian director in India with dresses designed by an Indian" social media would still go crazy. I even remember one time when Gaga was invited to perform at an event in India, and wore a sari designed for her specifically by an Indian and 'SJWs' still got mad.

First, Beyonce is not dressed as a Bollywood star anywhere in the video. If the silly writers watched any Bollywood movies, they would know that no actresses actually dress like that. They dress in "normal" clothes unless it's some period piece that takes place in the 1800s.

Sunny Leone is NOT of "Canadian heritage." What is Canadian heritage anyway? She was born in Canada to Punjabi Sikh parents from India and Katrina Kaif is half South Asian herself (or so she claims). And then the last part is the BIGGEST pseudo-intellectual mess. Sri Lankans and South Indians are not related to black Africans (and they're not related to Bollywood either, which is a North Indian-dominated industry). Those "black" or dark skinned Indians and Sri Lankans are related to the aboriginals of Australia. Being dark skinned doesn't mean you're from Africa. More importantly, what does that have to do with Beyonce? She's not even a black African.

Sis. Comment there and educate them to stop this TIME lie from spreading. Queen, I watched a couple of episodes of Quantico. I love you now.

Bollywood cinema, like any other, has its share of stars who aren’t native to South Asia. Think of light-skinned superstar Katrina Kaif, born in Hong Kong to a white British mother and Indian father. Or consider Sunny Leone and Amy Jackson, also light-skinned and of Canadian/British heritage? If they can be Bollywood stars, why can’t we imagine Beyoncé could be one?

This is actually offensive though, just because they are mixed how does that make them not indian. They literally have one indian parent. It's like saying beyonce's not black because she's also techically of european/french heritage.

Although I don't think beyonce is racist, I dislike the way this article was written.

I was born in Mexico living in the us and people always appropriate Latin/Mexican cultures I never scream img RACISME he/she's appropriating ugh that's so Annoyig if someone wants to make my culture more known go head. The song is #1 in India anyway, so clearly they're not too bothered by this "appropriation". The ultimate slap in the face for all the people being fake mad about this.

But people don't apply this logic with everyone else. I mean as the article said, India loves other people embracing their culture.

YET when Iggy goes out and does her own style, also with Indian cast etc. people go "CULTUUDRAL APPROPROATION!!111"" and yet when Beyonce does it they consider all the facts.

It's called being angry for the sake of being angry. I mean, when Iggy did it there were people saying "oh and I bet you're white" or "whites trying to defend iggy

" yet when Bey does it, it's all "well this and this and that with this" and it's all okay.

People are just finding something to rally against, because it gives them a sense of purpose.
