On one hand, It could have been sang so it was more listenable, like LOTB.
On the other hand, going all out was probably a more clear way to portray the drunk desperate story behind higher.
But do we applaud artists for sacrificing control and technique to demonstrate messages that could relayed without? Because it may cross the line from singing into acting.
I like the actual melody and lyrics, and her tone is different. But the actual vocal quality is really grating and kind of gives me a headache. But obviously she was trying to achieve a certain effect and it worked.
