Please. Everyone was against Iggy. The difference here is that Coldplay, the director & Bey did this as a tribute to India's culture and weren't just using it to make some sort of exotic video for #aesthetics. The imagery and landscapes filmed were researched before being put in the video. Like, all jokes aside, the people that are offended have the right to be. I do not speak for their culture so I can't say whether or not I agree bc I have no say but please don't sit on here and act like the hive is defending this when we all knew from day 1 that she'd get a little backlash. It's just that many more Indian people have supported the video than go against it
What did Rih adopt that's "US-everything?" bc in the Caribbean, we dress there the same way people dress here in America and she still has her accent so like?!? and there are many black people w/ naturally blonde hair so that's not exclusive to white people?!

The mess in this post.
*Rihanna makes US/Western music exclusively, bar 3 Caribbean songs in her 9 album discography.
* Rihanna uses US slang extensively
*You dress the same as we do in the US because you've almost entirely adopted, or "appropriated" our fashion norms.
* Not "everybody" was against Iggy. The ignorant corners of twitter and low-traffic blogs do not equal "everyone". Though I don't even understand what point you were trying to make with this.
* Extensive research is not an excuse for appropriation. Iggy researched Hip-hop much more than they did India. So much so that she moved to the US at 16 and immersed in it.
