Leonardo DiCaprio, Brie Larson, Idris Elba, and Alicia Vikander won the film acting awards, with DiCaprio, Larson, and Vikander expected to take home similar honors at the Academy Awards next month. (Elba, who won best supporting actor for Beasts of No Nation, was not nominated at the Oscars.)
On the television side, the casts of Orange is the New Black and Downton Abbey won ensemble acting trophies, while Jeffrey Tambor (best actor in a comedy for Transparent), Uzo Aduba (best actress in a comedy for Orange is the New Black), Kevin Spacey (best actor in a drama for House of Cards), and Viola Davis (best actress in a drama for How to Get Away with Murder) were cited for individual honors. Elba won a second award, for best actor in a limited series for his role on Luther
So happy for Viola. Queen needs to slay @ TV and then get back on the silver screen with possibly more recognition. She's amazing.
Just started watching OITNB this week and it's really good so I'm happy for them aswell. Uzo is amazing as Crazy Eyes, I hope they expanded her role in the second and third seasons, but I guess they did, seeing how she won Emmys, SAG, etc.
And Alicia too, haven't seen Danish Girl yet, but with her performance in Ex Machina in mind, I'm sure she slayed that role too.
