Yes, but I'm convinced the straining was intentional for stylistic and thematic reasons.
I can picture ha in the booth hotboxing with her henessy bottle in hand to serve us something this raw

As a singer, you shouldn't have to "damage" your voice to sound raspy.
She needs to go to vocsal classes, to learn how to do it the right way.
OT: IT wasn't what I was expecting, it sounds like she's forcing herself toi sound like that.
All that straining & hollering was not cute.
