I am a senior in college majoring in finance, and I am going to graduate soon with no internship experience, and I have tried so hard to get one with no success.

So my question to you guys is, how important is having an internship before college ends and finding a job?

Any real life experience dealing with this? It has been freaking me out

That is even scarier.

It is not like I haven't tried. I have had interviews and gotten to the final step but I always lose out to someone who already has experience.

One of my bosses at a part time job I have now, told me that the real life job search in business is a lot easier than internship searches, and she never had an internship and got a good job pretty easily.

I'm in the fourth year of my five year college program, and I'm starting my fifth internship tomorrow with Nicola Formichetti. I find that you really have to put yourself out there, even if you don't feel like you are "good enough". Take risks and don't be afraid to stalk HR people on the internet and LinkedIn to get in contact. I found all of my internships on my own, with no help, and I had absolutely zero contacts and connections when I first started looking. It's a bit scary, and I think I've applied to over 100 companies within 4 years and received over 75 rejection letters or emails.

So you recommend using LinkedIn and other things to get in contact then?

I will give that a shot and really push for it then if it will help. Though internship season is kind of over, I know plenty of places are still hiring

I'm a sophomore right now, and I want at least four internships. I'm starting to apply for the summer but I'm terrified of rejection.
