It's such an odd statement/article cause I thought odds dropping meant the inverse?? (so her chances of winning would be going down )

The odds are based on likeliness to win. The lower the number, the higher the chance. Eg. If her odds were 1/50 or 1/3, 1/3 is of course better. If the number was increasing, it would be less likely for her to win obviously.
