Agreed! Kendrick is technically the best rapper today, bar none, although I will say that Ye did outshine him on No More Parties (although Kendrick is redoing his verse?).
And I doubt Kendrick will ever water down his sound to get a pop hit- 'i' was probably the closest we'll get to him having a commercial song.
Drake, Kendrick and J-Cole are what most people consider to be the trinity of today and I'd say they're probably right. And Kanye has influenced them all so it's a testament to his power

Ye definitely outshined him on NMPILA Jesus.

Ye hasn't had a verse that good since 2010, let's be real. New God Flow and Clique come close and maybe some of Black Skinhead. And idk, is there rumours about Kenny redoing his verse? I kinda hope he does. Not completely though, the 'come Erykah Badu me' line is amazing.
I agree, but I just mean that GKMC was pretty commerical when compared to TPAB. It would be interesting to see him sell out. I feel like a) he has both the talent and connections to make huge crossover hits and b) he could easily make it a sequel to TPAB and say it is what would happen if the 'evils of Lucy' really had tempted him and he gave in to the industry.
J Cole and Drake are both massively overrated. J Cole only has storytelling these days and Kendrick and Kanye both do that better now (Real Friends and These Walls, the album version of i, countless more examples from Kendrick especially). Drake has his cute hits which is nice, but IYRTITL was overall so mediocre. I will admit that Nothing Was The Same is a great record though as was Take Care. I feel like he's fallen off a little though.
