I live in Illinois now, however I really want to move to NYC but I'm kind of over harsh winters. They always make me depressed and my life turns to ****. I was wondering if Cali would be a better option because of the constant sunshine. I'm just kind of worried about the water crisis, wildfires, earthquakes, and overall cost of living. Plus I heard its hard to make new friends there. :/

Of course LA & SF are great, but they're extremely expensive and if you don't make enough money you'll be struggling to get by.

Not AT ALL. LOL. I always laugh when people are afraid of California because of earthquakes as well because deep down people find them fun here. Like, it gives us something to tweet about.

Californians also love ANYTHING to do with rain because we never get actual weather. I want to move for that reason.

I grew up in Cali, lived in DC for a year and have spent time in Texas for work . . . and can attest that California is the best place to live.

Yes, we have pretty static weather (sunny and beautiful) but if you like the snow . . . you can easily drive to the mountains and get it. The beaches are beautiful as are the people. Wages aren't ****** like other places . . . the only downside is the traffic. But if you live somewhere like SF . .. you can get by with public transportation. And the drought only impacts rural areas to be honest.

Oh and you actually see diversity and can get amazing food just about everywhere.

Yes, it's great here. The earthquakes aren't scary and living costs really depends on the county/city. Best state I've lived in
