For three long years. I'm so dumb for never wearing the retainer that **** used to hurt me tho /: I also wish I didn't beg for them to be taken off, I have a slight overbite 😒
My doc suggested to me extracting 4 teeth, the ones next to the canines, of all 4 but I refused because I couldn't stand voluntarily getting rid of my teeth (losing teeth is a huge phobia of mine).
Anyway, turns out that he didn't need to remove the top 2 because my teeth have been perfect and not budged an inch! However, the bottom got a little jumbled, not too much like someone said, but enough to the point where it's so freaking annoying personally for me. Like when I smile you can't tell! But if you look closely or if I point the movements out by telling you to look via certain angles you'd be able to notice.
I want them again to fix, but ultimately I hated braces. The fixing, the look, the voice. I didn't outright hate any of that as much as I couldn't stand the tightening pain and how long I took.
My biggest advice is WEAR YOUR RETAINER!!!!! It's so important!! Although no amount of religious 24/7 retainer could prevent my bottom teeth from shifting a bit. Unlike my top teeth, extractions were pretty much a necessary for the bottom ones.
My retainer cracked in half a few months after I got my braces off But my teeth are still perfect 8 years later. I do have those permanent retainers on top and bottom though.
I had naturally straight teeth and then my mom saw that one tooth moved and freaked out and made me get braces the summer before my sophomore year in high school
It was awful, i hated the fact that i was 16 with braces while everyone else had gotten theirs off, and it was just painful and uncomfortable af
Yes from 2010-2012. I didn't really need them that much it was just one tooth on the lower jaw that was being pushed forward. I don't wear my retainer so it's kind of crooked again but Idc.
