^ Actually no racist intended, though, but Lady Gaga sounds similar to most pop singers that get zero plays on Urban stations... Not that she can't have black fans...

What the hell? This doesn't even make sense and it has some racist sprinkle whether you wanted it to happen or not. You don't see how black people support GaGa? Billboard included Digital sales because they were becoming popular, not because of "black people". The URBAN genre dominated Airplay because it has a wider variety of formats, while POP doesn't. Might get lucky to have Rhythmic play. Billboard still hasn't formated to this as Airplay still significantly overthrows Digital.
I think your wording is off, and needs to be fixed.
Eventhough the formula for the Hot 100 favours airplay over digtial sales, it's almost impossible for a song to reach number one on the back of airplay alone, whilst it is possible on the back of digital sales (when a song has virtually no airplay) because they can reach much higher figures. So I think the formula is sort of fair now
It's fairer, but Airplay is still beneficiary. Surely singles can reach heights with digital alone with 1st single, sometimes 2nd if the strategy is that way, but for latter singles Airplay becomes a factor.
^Why are audience impressions lower now then they uesed to be? I rememeber Usher reached 180 million back in 2004 with 'Yeah', and then Mariah passed 200 million with We Belong Together'.

I don't think that is it. On pop radio Lady GaGa becamse the first to cross the 11,000 spins mark with 'Poker Face'. So they are still playing the same songs over and over...
