BOGOTA, Colombia — Police say they have arrested a 23 year old man accused of posting a Facebook threat to the son of Colombian President Alvaro Uribe.

Judicial police commander Luis Ramirez says the man was arrested Wednesday on the outskirts of Colombia's capital, Bogota. The suspect's name was not officially released.

The man is accused of posting a message reading, "I promise to kill Jeronimo Alberto Uribe, son of Alvaro Uribe," in a group of the same name on the social networking site Facebook in July.

Police said he will be charged with instigating criminal activity.

You can get arrested for saying you have a bomb on a plane/bus/train, etc. So I wouldn't see why not? Someone must have reported him if they thought it was serious...

Wow. I'm speechless. But tell me about the state of your government in Colombia... I reckon it's not very free and enlightened, or am I wrong? I feel for you, living in one of Europe's most corrupted countries I know the feeling of frustration situations like this may cause.. justice only seems to work for the rich and powerful. >=(
