In the mornings it'll regularly get to below zero temps in the winter. Waiting for the bus outside during HS at 6 AM was a bitch and a half. Freezing my nips off

I have been wearing flip flops, short sleeve T's, and shorts all winter. Daytime temps average about 55-60F in Jan. It only gets warmer from here . Mediterranean climate at its best!

I know how lucky I am, by the way. I take advantage of the weather by gardening and growing organic veggies! One of the reasons It's so expensive to live here in my city is because of the almost perfect-weather, even in most of winter and fall.

i can tell you why minnesota is like that, actually! minnesota has something called a humid continental climate (the "humid" part is because it gets a good amount of precipitation). basically, the further a place is from the ocean, the more extreme the temperature differences are between winter and summer. that's why places like minnesota get almost as hot as where i live in DC in the summer even though they're way further north. the ocean moderates climate and makes winters warmer and summers cooler. that's also why places that are right on the ocean but not too far south (like san francisco; LA and florida are far enough south that they don't really get this, although LA is still a lot cooler than the deserts near it) are so known for cool summers. this is different from places like NYC or DC, which have "humid subtropical climates", which are wetter and get less cold in the winter. the more u know

also here it was 11 degrees a week ago. DC doesn't get as cold as places like boston or minnesota, but it usually gets in the 20s or lower at night.

It gets very hot in the summer here though.

Mid 40s in San Diego, there have been occasions were its been lower but it's very rare. Plus when the sun is out its warm enough even when it's that low.

I'm in Minnesota too so OP.

I live in Norway, to the east so I'm not affected by the coast and I guess the coldest is usually around -25, but it can get down to -30 too probably though that's not often. The past week it has been around -18 and today it's -2 so it feels like spring

Usually in the winter it will be like 6ºC (43ºF-ish) but it can get lower, and back in late November it was just reaching into the negatives/around 0ºC. Right now its at 8ºC according to Google.

Thankfully that is as cold as it gets, its actually quite rare for it to go into negative temperatures. I couldn't imagine having that for months at a time
