I signed on to comment in a thread that discussed issues affecting those who are socially and economically deprived. I read comments like: "this is why I believe in abortion" - " they're so terrible". Appalled, I composed an essay-length post and deleted it. Why? I've noticed most ignorant and simple minded people won't change. I guess it's because most people just want to express their opinions on the Internet, they don't want to have a decent conversation-- their way or the high approach.... With this in mind, what are topics that should not be discussed here?

I feel your pain. I think topics discussing any minority really shouldn't rely on the majority of ATRLers for critically thought out viewpoints.

More like which people should be banned from discussing controversial topics on ATRL. There are some blatantly ignorant, racist people on here that just don't care about the actual topic at hand and just want to be rude.

No topic should be off-limits anywhere. How else do you educate the ignorant? Remember we are dealing with teenagers here so it's not like they don't need educating.

Abortion - it's an endless debate. The Holocaust - it's illegal in most countries to deny it (cc: trolls of atrl) and finally, most topics involving children.

I completely understand you, but most of them are teenagers. When you're that age it's natural to think that you're right and no one else is. So much for growing up, and a few years later, you realize you know ****.

Generally most serious topics because so few often can a thread and its subject be treated with respect when the majority of this forum is used by people who idolise and obsess over women, argue, troll etc.

Spend all day, everyday cussing Gaga and then sit down for a serious chat with me and I will not trust any word you say. A fool is a fool.

Any thread about social issues. Both parts who agree or disagree with the topic are embarrassing af. After all, it's a forum about pop music, not about politics and social problems , there are special forums made for that if I really wanted to see and discuss those things
