I actually really enjoyed the movie, artistically and plot-wise, and I took something away from watching it. Yes, the concept has been done before, but it teaches multiple great, important lessons and I absolutely love that. It presents a narrative we could all use a reminder of. I hope the bandwagon backlash doesn't hurt Cameron or change his mind because I'll be watching the sequel when it's ready as well as the other two installments that are planned to follow it.

It was only ever cool because it had the innovative tech. Literally the only reason it's even mentioned now is because Cameron did something different in that movie. Hell, if you ask anyone about its plot, there's not a lot praise coming that way. It's the most overrated film anywhere (at least Titanic had a decent story to justify its massive sales).
