Angela's CHARACTER was horrible in Hotel. Angela did a great job as an actress, considering what she had to work with. ANOTHER example of white privilege. You have this INCREDIBLY talented woman, Angela, who is a chameleon on screen, and you give her the most ridiculous role on the show, and crown the average and newcomer, Lady Gaga as your 'leading' lady, which leads to her getting an undeserving Golden Globe nomination and win.

While i'm not going to get into a discussion about Gagas nom and subsequent win. I will say this tho, awards shows are tricky because voters cannot watch every movie released. Maybe the best performance of the year was from movie absolutely no one saw. And even then taste is subjective. So campaigning, box office, critic reception, audience push, all of that is taken into consideration when they watch and award. Its not perfect but its probably the best system. And it depends on which award show you are talking about in specific. I do find The Oscars and The Emmys to be the most prestigious and the closer in awarding the "best" performances of the year.

Yeah, but that didn't answer the part about Angela. This is exactly what everyone's been talking about in this thread.

Gaga getting to be the lead is more about Ryan being gay than her being white. Angela has never had a great written character, thats why she has never been the best actress of any season.

Anyways back on topic. My favorite part is that they are getting rid of anyone that hasn't worked in 10 years

Only if they don't A) have an Oscar nom, or
B) previously have a 30-year career.

Like I said earlier, this probably hurts women and people of color disproportionately, cuz it's way easier for white men to get jobs far into their careers. (And it's easier for them to get that Oscar nom to get lifetime membership.)

Marie Laveau was a great character and Angela was PHENOMENAL throughout the entire season. She gave Jessica a run for her money as the best performance in Coven.
