Legendary songwriter Diane Warren has confirmed that despite widespread belief, she is not a lesbian.
Speaking in a rare profile piece with BuzzFeed, the 59 year old was asked about the fact that she has never had a long term relationship. “I haven’t really been in love the way most people are in love,” she admits. “I think I love my cat more than I could love any human.”
An article in Out magazine once referred to her as ‘lesbian songwriter’, but speaking to writer Doree Shafrir at her studios in Hollywood, Warren said, “I’m not a lesbian! It’s weird, I’m not gay. Everybody thinks I am, and I wish I was, to be honest, because I have some great lesbian friends, and they’d be great girlfriends, but I’m not a lesbian."
