I'm actually studying to be an elementary school teacher right now! I chose elementary education because I want to teach for social justice and I truly believe that I can positively impact children's lives, and I want to do this early in their education so that they will grow to be understanding and embracing of people from different cultures.
I'm 21 so I think I might be a little too close in age with high schoolers for them to take me seriously.
On topic, I actually considered being a HS teacher yrs ago but the education in my country is so ****ed up that I don't think I would unless it's a private school.
I'm currently trying to decide this. I'm really good with young kids but I also want to teach something more complex. But at the same time high schoolers are so disrespectful and I'm a bit too introverted to deal with some of them.
Elementary, what are y'all on. High Schoolers are ****ing awful. They don't want to listen, don't want to do their work, think that they're better than you and school in general, are hormonal af and therefore emotional, crying about breaking up with their boyfriend of 2 weeks in the middle of class like somebody just died. Hell no. Give me the obedient little kids who are still afraid of the consequences of not doing what they're told
Elementary. High schoolers think they got the whole damn world figured out. And they are really disrespectful towards teachers. I'm not wasting 8 hours of my day teaching to disrespectful little ****s who stay on their phones rather than listen to what I'm saying.
