I don't get why people bring up this 'long career' excuse, like, have you seen her attendances for her old tours?

The Girlie Show had a higher average attendance than S&S and grossed ~$250m (considering TP inflation) with only 39 shows

Madonna is a legend and has been in the game for decades, thus the high rate for her tickets. Taylor has plenty more years to catch up, and she probably will tbh, she just seems to get bigger and bigger with each era, and I don't see her ever flopping because her music is so accessible.

But even the MDNA tour Otugross Taylor's tour. And everything was against Madonna that time.

Why try to discredit the 1989 tour when it was wildly successful? This thread is kind of pointless because I doubt any female artist is touching Sticky n' Sweet's numbers in the future. What Madonna accomplished was a very rare feat.

And please, add: Tours wasn`t a thing in the 80 or the 90. Tour became a thig in the 00. And Madonna was ahead of the business since the Reinvention Tour. I mean, more than 1.1million since then. :clap 3:

Who really cares whether it's about her long career (which it is, with the S&S tour) or about Madonna's popularity and significance (as with her older tours)?

Like, this comparison literally makes no sense to me. They're entirely different artists who were in entirely different career phases and who make entirely different music.

Nothing was "against her" at that time. She put out what's generally agreed to be one of her worst albums and only had one hit, but she performed at the Super Bowl just prior and it was literally the tour right after the biggest female tour of all time.

Super Bowl was in the USA.
Outside that country no one pay attention to that show. And her tour gross in Europa+Latin America was insane, as usual.

And so? If Taylor wanted she could have added a lot of dates elsewhere, but she prefers to keep her tours short so she just exploits the demand in North America and calls it a day. It ain't disrespectful to no one. I mean, most of Madonna's tours up until the Sticky & Sweet had a similar amount of dates outside of North America as the 1989 Tour
