It doesn't make sense that they did this in percentages. The US spending slightly less percent in research than Germany and Japan means that the US spends more money overall on research than the other two combined, hence why most discoveries and inventions are there.
Most of the other studies okay, it's just awful, however, when they use percentages to show the overall of a country.
Ex:
A country with a GDP of $500m and used 50% on defense ($250m) sure as hell isn't more powerful than a country with a GDP of $20t and only uses 1% on defense ($200B).
would usnews lie? i should really get my ass out of this country with universial healthcare and being paid $1000 a month for taking an education and move to america cuz apparently the us is #3 while my country barely makes the top 10
Yeah, no, any country where you can be charged 10k for a lil visit to the hospital is NOT deserving of the best country in the world title so y'all can take several seats while Western Europe dominate!
I'm happy that I live in Germany and Germany is a great country. I wouldn't say it's the best country in the world tho. My favorite countries are: Canada, Sweden, Norway, Taiwan, Japan, USA, Netherlands, Norway and Spain
