I'm turning 21 in about a month from now. Welp..

The thought of not being able to pay them terrifies me.

Hey fellow old timers. Turning 25 this year!

I'm on my own. Left the parents around a year ago.

In working on going on my own but I'm very much against the idea of paying rent.

My goal is to buy a building with several apartments that I can rent out and use the revenue to pay the mortgage whilst living in my own apartment. Now it's just a question of amassing a down payment

Paying rent sucks, but the freedom that comes with living on your own is worth it. My parents are so damn snoopy. Sometimes they even call to just to see what I'm up to.

I've been living in Downtown Calgary for just over 2 years now. (Btw don't believe the media in how they've exaggerated how bad things are here. It's tough times, but if there's really been that many people layed off, why is downtown even busier than it use to be.)

The hubby and I have been talking about buying a house actually.

I can't afford to buy a house . It's my own fault for not saving properly. I'm worried that if I get trapped in the rent cycle then I'll never be able to. I'm opening a "Help to Buy" account soon so maybe that'll help later on.

I live with my parents at the moment, I'm in the Mother in law apartment they built for my grandma so there is a little more privacy.

Your still young, so you have plenty of time to buy a house. My parents didn't buy their first house till I was already 14. (in their late 30s)

We first need to think about where we want to permanently settle. Were also currently stuck in an immigration battle, as he applied for permanent residency in November 2014 and we still haven't heard anything back yet.

I'm debating on taking a job in China for a year after I graduate so he can spend more time with his family, as hes been away from them for almost 4 years.

I hope it all works out, rooting for you two.

I am currently in the process of planning my moving back to Virginia, I can't stand it here and it's my hometown

Left my parent's house (thank God they're horrible) but now living with my uncle in a new city (& he's really nice but very homophobic )

I'm about to get a studio apartment, it's really nice and I don't mind small space. I want to gradually build up. I don't wanna rush and get something over my head.
