when did she say this??? i dont recall that at all.
if anything...she used to say that she was going to retire at 30
I do remember something about her saying she wanted to release an album every year or so after 30. Was it an interview with Sway in the B'day era?
And Miss Tina, around that time, said Beyonce had a clear plan for where she wants to be and that she "is working towards that." I think that plan included no longer promoting as much but the releasing every year part probably changed. It just isn't that realistic if you want to maintain your artistic integrity and deliver the best material possible.
Maybe the no promo thing is a happy compromise for still releasing music but also sort of "retiring" from being the traditional pop star.

Bey has always said her main goal is to become a legend and you can bet that back in the days when DC were still trying to break out, she was studying her idols MJ, Prince etc.. She has noticed that all of them had big (!) eras, but that they, at a certain stage, really made an effort to maintain some sort of mystique and unpredictability around them. Only these last two "ingredients" made them turn into legends after all. She observed that and set her goals.
Would anyone be here for Bey releasing an EP? About 5-6 songs, a music video for all of them (though not released all at once), and heavy promotion? Something kind of simple, but still special and intriguing in a Beyoncé kind of way (if that makes sense)?
Nope and she would never do that
there's no point in doing that, she'd just call it an album
Yeah she did say that but that's not how she said it I think?. I interpreted as her saying she wanted to release an album every year UNTIL she was 30 and then she'd slow down and be a mother. It was from a B'Day interview she did w/ Sway.

This that K-POP in you talking
I want a nice, fun, uptempo 11 track album from her. Something about those kind of albums always being huge and having smashes.

Same
I would love a short album like B'day where it's just BOP after BOP after BOP. I want her to let loose and have fun with these songs like she did on B'Day....but still of quality of course. And if there's only 11 songs imma need a video for all them eventually

Yes!! I think that's what she might be going for. She seems to be in a space right now where she just doesn't care anymore and is just having fun. I feel like that's a part of why B'Day is so timeless to me. It represents her and her personality the best.... and ofc a Bey era is not a Bey era w/o a bunch of music videos

so true
Self-Titled had it's fun moments but overall it was very personal, serious and mature. It is important to make those kinds of songs of course but I can't imagine her going even further in that direction
7/11 and Feeling Myself were signs of her letting her hair down and I think they are indicators of this new album (those are great songs but I want more quality versions of those lol)...and MIA to me felt like a release of pent up energy (just like b'day) she tried to switch things up as much as she could with that show. She is itching to be creative and get out her ideas, that's why she's taking the super bowl so seriously and planning a huge tour

Yes but as a bridge in between eras. For instance release the album. Go on tour during the third or fourth single. Intead of releasing a platinum edition or a delux edition. Do an EP of 6 song. With three potential single. Like 10 to 12 month after the release. So she have an era of like 1 and half years.
boy I know you want me
I can see it in your eyes
but you keep on frontin'
won't you say what's on your mind
cause each and every time you near me you give me signs
but when I ask you what's the deal you hold it all inside
If you wanna be with me you gotta keep it real
tell me what's goin' on
tell me how you feel
cause boy I know you want me just as much as I want you
so come and get my love
it's all here for yooooou

I wouldn't mind something like this happening, but I doubt she would do it

not going to happen. If you want to know how Bey is going to behave in her upcoming years when it comes to music, just take a look at MJ and Prince and you'll know what to expect. No EPs, no non-stop promotion. Just big and massive album releases, big events where people lose their **** when they see Bey because it has become so seldom to see her and huge tours.
That's why I still believe she is going to be the one who is going to ask all of her colleagues to do a "Heal the world"-type-of-song. She's for sure the only one who would be able to make those big names come together (including legends) alongside Taylor I believe.
So i just noticed someone shot a grammy comercial, implying who cares about the superbowl.
I feel a certain team is salty Bey starting her new era soon.
