They have civil partnerships now, but both sides of the marriage debate submitted a proposal.
The Christian Party got their initiative in first that would ban gay marriage.
The Greens initiative to legalize gay marriage is still pending so if the Christian one flops in February then the Greens can snatch after.
If the marriage ban passes next month then that would delay the PRO-gay marriage referendum by a few years
but there was also a large I don't know among the rest.
They're arguing on the economic impact and claim this is all just a hot mess and won't benefit anyone, gay or straight, in the long run.
