I watched the 1-15 religiously, but then here they change the voices of the characters and they sucks. The chapters are boring and senseless, so I don't know, maybe they get better now, but with the new voices here, I don't think I'll watch them again.

I'd be so happy if it got back on track again, season 1-13 ish are amazing.

And some of the newer eps are v good (people way exaggerate when they say how bad it is) but they're very few and far between. The halloween one this year was good (the non treehouse one) as was barthood. I'll have to check out the Teenage one.

Sis, get with it. Family Guy has bounced back hard.

Family Guy's had the best episodes/seasons by far, but the lull it hit in the middle of its run, especially when it traded out humor for gross-out gags, really brought it down.

That's not really saying a whole lot. SP managed to rack up lots of seasons by airing twice in the same year multiple times.

Simpsons was around long before South Park, has aired more episodes than South Park and has far more awards. It remains the longest-running sitcom, scripted primetime show ever and animated show ever. Not to mention, The Simpsons is one of the most iconic television series in history. South Park... not so much. Though SP's most recent season was great whereas Simpsons is garbage nowadays.

Ew God no. Family Guy is so uneven week-to-week, it's such a messy show now. And the idea it (or any animated show) has better episodes or seasons than peak Simpsons should be warnable

!!! The episode really felt like a season 5 or 6 episode. They need more like that. I loved the message.

The Simpsons always win. It's definitely one of the top 10 most iconic shows ever.

I think they just need more time to come up with better plots. Coming up with 25 episodes a year, with no break and no chance to rethink the show, means only a few episodes per season actually show quality.

The non HOH episode felt like an early episode, and I think they had an idea for a non HOH episode for a long time, which is why it felt up to scratch.

It's not their fault they had demand

South Park is still more clever and will take it's rightful place as the longest running most iconic tv show when the Simpsons retire in the next 3-4 years

One thing I don't get it when people say the Simpsons Golden Era ended at season 10. The show was still great until around season 14 imo. Then anything form season 17 is best left unsaid. But like I and a lot of others have said in this thread, season 27 has been the strongest in a while.

South Park is more clever now, but 90s Simpsons is far superior, something SP have acknowledged before. Simpsons peak has so many excellent jokes squeezed into every single scene. And the demand thing doesn't really make sense - Simpsons has demand for more 600+ episodes. Having annual seasons of 22 episodes > having two seasons a year with 17 episodes. Splitting it up doesn't somehow make more demand.

SP theoretically could overtake the Simpsons in episode count (very unlikely) but will never achieve the iconic status of Simpsons. It will never have the influence on popular culture, largely because the show doesn't appeal to nearly as wide a demographic as Simpsons does.

!!! I agree. They need some new stuff. They've already tried a lot of things, but I think they need more back to basics episodes rather than random backstories of side characters or trips to other continents. I haven't watched much else this season yet, but that Halloween episode is probably top 5 since 2010.
