Compare this to Ariana who had released generic pop radio-friendly singles with trendy featuring artists tacked on to ensure success.

No. Ariana basically had 3 singles smashing worldwide at the same time, despite being a brand new artist who hadn't been promoted internationally before. Selena's doing very well, especially in her home market, but she's not enjoying that kind of domination.

Nothing about Revival was risky though. It was completely on trend with everything happening in music right now just like Ariana was with ME. None of the newer "pop girls" ATRL stans for take actual risks.
