More like our certifications are now useless. Everything becomes Gold or Platinum just with streaming. CFTS is Gold too and radio never really were into it... GFY was on the radio a bit, but it surely wasn't a hit overall..

Last year we had more than 50 multiplatinum hits.......

!! They gave too much weight to streaming in the formula, in my opinion. On the charts it works fine but they should raise the value for certifications.

But hardly anyone buys songs anymore. At least they are planning to incorporate YouTube which is a far better hit indicator than Spotify in Italy.

Which is weird because no other countries are considering YouTube yet.

I think how they incorporated the streaming factor on the weekly chart is great and reflect quite well the popularity of a song but it's just not the same with certifications.

Well, taking the Good for You's example once again, I decided to make a little research to see how it did on the charts and, even though it didn't peak high, it's having a lot of longevity and I think that the song had quite good sales too other than streams, otherwise it wouldn't have charted for all this time.

On FIMI: 71-66-81-78-71-74-66-67-51-39-36-33-31-36-36-26-37-45-45-54-83-88-93-x-x-95-75-59-86 (27 weeks, 10 of them in the upper half, and still charting)

Earone Airplay: 81-90-OUT (just two weeks of, low, airplay at the beginning of August)

The "problem" is that every Spotify user looks at Spotify's global chart, so what's popular in the US/UK automatically seeps through to other territories. Even something like Jumpman is top 100 on Italian Spotify.

I don't really mind the barrage of certifications. It was like that 15 years ago (particularly with albums), everything went gold or higher. I just wish on-demand streaming better represented the GP. But that's a global problem, and only time can solve it.

It didn't have good sales, at all.

It charted only 70 days on iTunes, and outside the top 50 for most time..

Much part of its longevity/sales are due to Spotify.
