I personally feel janet. is a pretty flawed album from the outset but maybe that's just me.

Put Your Hands On, You Need Me, Start Anew, And On & On, 70s Love Groove are all flawless. And a lot of the others are pretty great too.

She doesn't have a ton of b-sides and bonus tracks, but the ones she does have are pretty great.

janet. has a lot of good songs, but for me there's always a song that will break the flow like what'll I do stuck in between throb and funky big band

The ballads section of janet. isn't her best, but from the beginning through New Agenda is a flawless run and I think Because of Love is underrated. Again and Where are You Now are the only janet. songs I don't love tbh.

I mean New Agenda and This Time especially are amazing. Both were contenders for my 11 (neither got it though)

Idk how you like Because of Love best of the singles. If and You Want This are the best.

It's so sickly sweet and catchy without coming across as corny, but it was a huge grower and I used to not like it.

The only good song is the sultry whisper section of AFY is When We Ooo.....maybe Love Scene once in a while

Every track from janet. works well to capture the themes imo, they all fit together nicely in terms of lyrics but the sequencing could definitely use work. I would have to say This Time sticks out as the best track but the pure fun of Funky Big Band and the empowering theme of New Agenda make them top contenders. The singles were all perfect I think, especially If.
