The song itself is called Angel, written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey.
“Basically it's a prayer, it's asking for some guidance,” Jepsen said. “Beauty school hasn't worked out too hot for me (Frenchy), I've dyed my hair pink accidentally, also I've dropped out of high school, I've lost my way.
“But the one thing I really admire about Frenchy, wrong or right, is her innocence and optimism in life. Even though everything has gone wrong, maybe an angel will come and tell me what to do. And this is her having that moment of reflection, and lo and behold, magic happens.”
