Ultimately, I think the issue is whether you want a trustworthy (to an extent) and passionate person, or an experienced (in terms of the White House) and slightly more moderate practical person. Will America benefit more from having positive ideals and guiding itself toward a certain set of primarily economic and social goals, or is it going to benefit more from a slower change that builds on Obama's legacy and is perhaps more mindful of non-economy issues?
There's not a right or wrong, there's just opinion.

Bernie is a too good to be true candidate. He would be amazing if the US was more progressive. Given our current situation, I believe Hillary is more qualified to at least compromise a bit with Republicans moreso than Bernie. Bernie's ideas are just too left for conservative Americans to swallow. In fact, a Sanders presidency in my opinion would garner conservatives to become even more right-wing than they are now. The country is too divided to have such a bold "democratic socialist" be the president.

Basically. Many in my extended family subscribe to his more economic ideals. Clinton basically have no support from them aside from me and I'm just flexible.
---
On Wall Street, of course it's going to take some time especially with the amount of control the Republican have on the government. I believe he can at least still lay the framework for an agenda that someone else can carry on and push. The effort will need to be multipresidental imo. Of course that idea is more unstable than anything.
On other issues, Sanders would be willing to compromise (all candidates will). He'd be a fool to stick with his guns every step of the way and accomplish nothing (except maybe gun control and criminal justice issues). Or at least, I trust that he isn't a fool.

I also don't really think his focus on campaign finance makes much sense. I agree it's a little bit of an issue, but I question whether it's really significant enough to be a main point, much less the main focus of a Presidential platform (his manager confirmed tonight in an interview that it and the wage gap are the campaign's primary focus).
|
Campaign financing is why his supporters love him, it goes back to him being genuine. It's completely true that he doesn't take any money from Super PACs, doesn't get money from big banks, etc. All of his money is from small donations by his numerous donors so he has the trust of the people who vote for him to know he won't be influenced by other campaign financers.
That's one area where I truly respect Bernie a whole lot. Do I think it's important enough to be a main focus point? Hell no. But the overarching idea is definitely something he should focus his whole campaign on and he has been doing that.

Someone in this very thread said during the last debate, the only reason he's still here is to make a name for himself to run in the 2020 or 2024 debate, which I agree with.
I wonder if Hillary or Bernie is considering him as VP, and they have been in talks. I think its Hillary. He seems to help her out more than anything.

Really? He basically tried to drag them both equally.

Honestly, if we were going to elect a highly progressive candidate for their progressive views, I would have wanted Warren.
I have a feeling homegurl was pressured not to run because of Hillary. I want her as the VP. Maybe even the next president if the one who's elected now doesn't run again.
Hell, on the off chance Hill is indicted like really soon, maybe Warren really should jump in and run?

Both him and Hillary were attacking Bernie more, they agree on the same issues mainly except the $15 minimum wage, and a few other small things I believe. Of course he won't go on stage and just praise Hillary. I mean he could still have a chance, if even the slightest.
And you can see the both leaning on each other. I hear more "I do agree with..." more than disagree.

Two women on a ticket? Not sure if America is ready
And I agree. I feel like she told Warren to wait a bit.
Still surprised Warren hasn't endorsed anyone yet

I think at this point Hillary being taken out within the next month it would be disastrous overall for the democrats. Sanders may have momentum and Warren could potentially gain many of Clinton's supporters but the party reputation itself would be too damaged.

I mean, it's a stretch with the rampant sexism in the country, but... Warren really is the best possible politician in many ways.

True, but I'd rather Warren were the backup instead of Bernie if something did have to happen.
I also think Warren, by this point in the race, might have overtaken Hillary if she was in Bernie's place.

I see the agreement thing but I think it's kind of a reach to say that he was approached and accepted the offer and then goes on to support Clinton by doing what he been doing in the previous debates.

I'd definitely prefer Warren at that point too. Now I want to research this actually
I'm a little upset that Warren (and Biden for that matter) didn't run. It would had been a far more interesting race for me but I guess the Democratic party look far less divided for it.
