It can. Breathing through your mouth in general can cause the underdevelopment of your face + bone structure. It's called Long Face Syndrome.
If you breathe through your mouth too much as a child and it continues into your teenage + adult years then your face can look f**ed. It also causes a lot of other issues too like breathing, nasal issues and sleeping problems. Always breathe through your nose and place your tongue behind your top teeth when at rest.
