I'm in this weird crossroads between Agnostic/Christian/Buddhist but I just believe whatever I feel will help me become a better person. I believe that many of the concepts of religion are great for character building and instilling good moral values but I don't think there is a mystical afterlife or some hologram ruler out in space.

I believe everyone has their own connections with higher forces, whether they believe in them or not. Every individual is different. So I don't care for all the pledging to established major religions. Just because a person goes to church every Sunday doesn't mean they are truly in tune with said forces. I believe that understanding yourself, your strengths, your weaknesses, your interests, etc, is the same as being connected with said forces. You do what makes you happy, as long as you're not harming anyone. You don't let anyone, not even family, not even totalitarian religious dogma, not even oppressive laws and cruel leadership, dictate how you live your life. Interpersonal relationships are important. But individuality is important too. Your beliefs are your beliefs. Often believing is like an uphill battle. But you have to be you, and you have to be happy and free.
