No shade here swissman, I didn't make the video and it's not the same thing. The girls in PCD were hired to support Nicole from the start. They knew what they were getting into. DC was different and you know that, hence the video.

Don't you know the history of DC though? They're not that different in setup. Beyoncé was little. She wanted to be a singer. Her father said "Okay let's do this" and started a ground to support Beyoncé. Same thing. Except in DC's case, the other girls actually were part of the group, but Bey was just the lead singer.

But we're talking about behind the scenes stuff. To the public, PCD was a group, and the spotlight was always and more about Nicole than even DC had, so that video applies even more to PCD if you're talking about one girl hogging all the attention in the public's eyes.

This is true but I don't think anyone (the public) ever cared about Nicole being in the center since the group was formed that way. DC always had criticism of Beyonce's father making the group centered around her while trying to create the image that they were all equally important like in TLC when it wasn't the case. It was only when they reunited that Kelly and Michelle finally started getting longer solos and more camera time (because of the criticism).

Actually no. Nicole received TONS of backlash for being in the center. People used to think she was a bitch and the one to hog on the spotlight, when that's not the story AT ALL. There are still people who believe she didn't let the other girls sing anything.

Ron Fair said it perfectly. When you have Michael Jordan on your team, you give him the ball. It's as simple as that. None of the other girls could handle PCD the way Nicole did. She is the face and the voice of the group, and rightfully so

I never said that's not the case. You are right, it's the same situation. Both deserved to be at that place. Both took the groups to a whole other level.
Destiny's Child without Beyonce is not Destiny's Child.
PCD without Nicole is not PCD.

That was because their internal problems leaked when the girls knew that Nicole was the lead. They shouldn't have tried to speak out against Nicole. No one had a problem with Nicole until Melody and others started causing drama during carpet events and live performances. In the beginning everyone loved her as the lead with no questions asked.

Actually, the other girls were already there before Nicole when PCD was a professional dance troupe and then Nicole was hired to be the singer when Interscope wanted to change the brand into a pop group. Melody was hired to be a back up vocalist so I guess she's the one who was hired for support.

The public did care about Nicole being the only one singing and some people still care. People still complain and make stuff up under Youtube comments after Nicole "stealing" the spotlight. A lot of them genuinely think Nicole was an attention hog who mistreated the other members when the truth is that it was part of the formula. As for DC, they were definitely criticized and Beyonce received huge backlash until Matthew became smart and changed their image starting with "Survivor" to make them look like sisters in order to make Beyonce look better and set her solo career up.

Actually, some fans/listeners complained that the other girls didn't get vocals from the beginning and it got a lot worse because Doll Domination was basically Her Name is Nicole leftovers. They blamed it on Nicole when, again, it was just the formula of the group. None of the other Dolls complained until 2009 when Nicole got a solo mention on "Jai Ho!" (it was originally her own solo song before they added PCD to it) and Melody was upset at a concert about not getting her own vocals. I don't blame her, but Nicole is not the one to be blamed.
