So I'm taking an online class for my last semester. It was supposed to be the easiest class in the world, but the professor put a new requirement this semester that makes us pay an extra $40 to download an app that uses our webcam to watch us while we take exams!!! Like, what was the point of even signing up for an online class if I can't cheat?

Even if I wanted to do that... the app notifies the professor if your eyes/face move off screen, if you walk away from the screen, or if you search for something online / open a separate window.

I would have called him out and refused to use the software. You should probably report him to your school administration. His method to prevent cheating won't work, anyway.

I wonder if El Capitan's multitasking will work on this if I have my browser and Evernote open. It's called Proctortrack.

The sad thing is, the school probably approved this. And it's too much effort to find out if they did or not.

It's not a professor being pervy, it's literally an outside, third-party app so strangers would be watching me.
