Where's the receipts? Obviously it's not okay, but that's because society as a whole has decided that a child is not informed enough to make a decision to commit to consent. There's no "age of consent" in biology.

I hate the laziness of deferring it to being a "mental illness" just because it's beyond our capabilities to have a judgement-free conversation.

You're missing the point entirely. It's not about to whom the urge is oriented but rather that the urge is innate and unchangeable. Just like homosexuality. And heterosexuality, for that matter.

Pedophilia is not the act of rape, it is the thought process of being attracted to children. The act of rape is child molesting.

You can be a homosexual without having had sex with a man, it's the same thing here.

Around 1% of the adult population is pedophile. That's 2.5 million pedophiles in the US only. Do you think there are 2.5 million child molesters in the US ? Of course not.
