This doesn't fix the root of the problem and in fact is likely to make pedophiles want to have sex with children even more.

And it legitimizes pedophilia as a sexual orientation when it is a straight-up mental illness. Let's not normalize people who take advantage of children...

Is it true that sex dolls make men less likely to rape? If so, then I could see how it might be useful, but I just can't see people being for the idea of grown men having sex with a child-doll. It just feels too wrong to many.

edit - Well I guess you could just lock them up. But that's a very reactive measure, not a proactive one. It's not like people are just gonna come out of the woodwork and turn themselves in to a life of institutionalization for having pedophiliac thoughts

sis can you get sexual thoughts out of your mind with therapy or something? it wont work. its the same thing. people dont choose to be pedophiles. there are pedophiles that can control their thoughts and there are the molesters. and im pretty sure there are lots of pedophiles that you dont notice. its a really sensitive subject.
this might sound weird when you put it like this but empathy. imagine getting locked away from society forever because of something you cant control / didnt choose. you cant throw them away, best you can do is trying to protect children.

thers nothing society can do about it. just be grateful that you werent one of them. i love psychology and this is one of the subjects that makes me feel weird when i think about it too much. its weird. it exists and it will forever exist unless somehow a cure is made (very unlikely). makes me real sad
