I know some of you are probably thinking, who the **** is Kelela? She is one of the most promising, interesting new artists of the last few years. I first discovered her through Solange's compilation album,
Saint Heron in 2013. "Rewind" was released as the first single from Kelela's
Hallucinogen EP. It is reminiscent of early-mid 90's club music, with a modern twist.

What a year 2015 has been for Santigold! After several years of silence, she finally released new music in the form of a John Green soundtrack song - "Radio". She blew all expectations I had out of the water. It got me so pumped for her upcoming album,
99¢.

Shura was one of my most exciting discoveries of the year. I came across "2Shy" while listening to a random Spotify playlist. I liked the 80's vibe of the song, and it became one of my most consistently played songs of the fall. The beat is like a modern rendition of "Jack And Diane" by John Mellencamp.

Ah, the
first second single from Anti. I'll be the first to admit that I wasn't really impressed by the single title. Even through my first few listens of the song, I wasn't as blown away as I had been by previous Rihanna singles. However, the song quickly grew on me.

If you would have told me a year ago that I would have included a Miguel song in my top 10, I would have cackled. His music has grown on me so much. "Coffee" is one of the most ethereal, intensely romantic songs I've heard (and actually enjoyed) in a long time. My favorite part of the song is the second verse.

"Lottery" is the highest ranking song by a new artist on my countdown this year. I discovered Kali Uchis through an ATRL user's signature (thank you, whoever you are). I wasn't sure if I liked her style at first, but she grew on me. I was so excited to see an up-and-coming Colombian artist branching out and trying something new. I feel Kali was robbed by her label and those around her when "Lottery" didn't receive a music video and didn't receive mass promotion.

This last minute addition almost didn't make the cut. I have been interested in Willow's music ever since she released the novelty single, "Whip My Hair". When she released
III last year, I was blown away by her change in direction. Alternative R&B works so well with her image. Out of the many songs on
Ardipithecus I enjoyed, "Waves Of Nature" stood out to me the most. As Willow's music continues to grow and evolve, I can only hope for more songs like it.

It's no surprise Grimes ranked as high as she did. She kept us waiting for what would eventually become
Art Angels, and the wait was well worth it. Lyrically, "Flesh Without Blood" is one of her easiest to understand and most well written songs.

This song is classic Beach House. A true, instant standout on
Depression Cherry. After several albums, it seems that they have perfected their sound. "Bluebird" features some of Victoria Legrand's best vocals to date.

What can be said about "Third Eye", one of Florence's best songs? When
How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful was first released, "Third Eye" was the first track that stuck out to me and was played on repeat before falling in love with the rest of the album. It follows Florence's trend of uplifting, motivational songs that speak of overcoming life's hardships.
I'm the same, I'm the same, I'm trying to change, she chants over a beat that builds up towards the middle-end of the song. I had the honor of seeing her in concert in October (outdoors, at that), and her live rendition of the song brought tears to my eyes.
