You have to reveal your identify in order to prove there's a winner. You would probably have to do some obligatory interviews but after that you can go into hiding and remain private.

There are ways to get around this, though. Like legally changing your name before claiming the prize.

This is why I wouldn't want to win. Some people get killed over this kind of stuff.

And then family and old friends start coming out of the wood work, etc.

Then again, I'd just move to a different country.

I think a 'little' sum (a few millions) to avoid media attention and to not go completely bonkers is a much better scenario.
