Harry will go solo and will smash, and no one will care about 1D together again. Most of 1D fans will turn into Harry stans and that's it.
In 2021 they probably will make a greatest hits album with 2 or 3 new songs to celebrate 10 years of career just like Girls Aloud did and split forever.
they're definitely splitting but they won't announce it for a while, they don't want to upset the fans before their solo stuff drops

This. Of course their rep is going to deny it. They can't officially confirm anything until the "hiatus" is over. And even if they do come back it will likely only be for one last hurrah. Everyone that matters has already started working on new solo music a long time ago. The end is clear as day.
Isn't that obvious? I mean I do believe they'll get together in 2017 or 2018 for a Greatest Hits album with a small tour as farewell but besides that I don't expect much
