No one said anything about chubby children. "Chubby" is perfectly normal, and plenty of people are on the heavier side throughout their whole lives unless they diet and exercise intensely. It's a natural body shape. Think of celebrities like Xtina, Gaga, Mariah. They can be very skinny when they want to be, but they're naturally on the curvier side.
But "sometimes it's genetics" is a ****ing annoying excuse for legitimate obesity. It's almost never genetics when you are
obese. There are very few genetic causes of obesity. When you're a parent and can control whatever food goes in your child's mouth, it's simply not acceptable.
There are, of course, plenty of other genetic factors (being predisposed to depression, addiction, etc.) that can contribute to obesity... but they don't directly cause it. Especially not for a child who is presumably not buying/choosing their own food.
