More Taleneted: Madonna v. Mariah v. Beyonce v. Adele
These four women are often considered the best pop performs of their respective decade on ATRL, but which of them do you feel is the MOST talented?
Please provide various receipts, like critical acclaim (I would advise against dubious sources, such as the Grammys, but you do you), pubic opinion, longevity, impact on the genre, lyric-writing ability, innovativeness, vocal ability, emotion in their performances, honesty, etc. so we can have an interesting discussion
It's between Mariah and Madonna for me. The former is a better lyricist and has an incredible voice, the latter is the most innovative of these women and is constantly challenging herself and never does the same thing twice (the other three stay in similar lanes)
There's no comparison since they excel in different fields
Mariah, Adele, and Beyonce are in very similar lanes. All three are acclaimed for their voices and songwriting abilities Madonna is very different, and I almost left her out, but ultimately felt wrong doing so
Madonna is the definition of ARTPOP (). Beyonce is a well rounded artist that goes for perfection every single time. Mariah can sing, and her lyrics are cute I guess. Adele does not compare although I prefer her music on an everyday basis than the rest. Her work doesn't get old. It's timeless.
I think I'd just put Adele at the bottom? I hold the first three ladies equally. If I acknowledged my preference/bias it'd be Mariah and Bey over Madonna
In pure talent Beyonce > Mariah > Adele > Madonna.
Madonna is a visionary, but that is not a talent. She knows how to make a cohesive album and put on a show... but her raw talent, like asking her to sing or get into a serious choreographed performance? Lmao.
Beyonce has THE chops and THE choreo. Mariah has the chops, Adele has a little less. And Madonna's Madonna.

While she's not terrible, and she does get a lot of praise for it, I find her song writing to be quite weak, especially in comparison to these women. I can post examples if you like

Being able to make an incredible album IS talent-based. She doesn't luck into this
