David Bowie had SIX heart attacks during Cancer Battle

Blackstar, released two days before he lost his 18-month cancer battle on Sunday, features him on a hospital bed with the lyrics: ‘Look up here, I’m in heaven.’
In his dying days, Bowie dispatched poignant thank-you notes to friends who remained unaware he was at death’s door until yesterday’s announcement.
Wendy Leigh, who published a biography of Bowie last year, told BBC News: ‘He didn’t just battle cancer... he had six heart attacks in recent years. Bowie had been diagnosed with incurable liver cancer in 2014 but kept it a closely-guarded secret."

One of David Bowie's closest aides told last night how he saw the singer collapse with exhaustion at the premiere of his theatre show just four weeks ago as he fought the final stages of deadly liver cancer.
Ivo van Hove, the director of his stage show Lazarus, told how the frail 69-year-old bravely didn’t want to let the fans down as he attended the premiere in New York on December 12.
He said: “It was written that he looked so well, so healthy. But behind the podium he collapsed from exhaustion. It was then that I realised that it may be the last time I would see him.”
Mr Van Hove was one of the few in Bowie’s inner circle who knew the extent of his illness beyond his immediate family.
He said: “I have known for about a year. We began collaborating on our show, Lazarus, and at some point he took me to one side to say that he wouldn’t always be able to be there due to his illness. He told me he had cancer, liver cancer.
“The cast didn’t know all that time, and I suspect that the musicians with whom he recorded Blackstar didn’t know either. He made every effort to complete those two projects on time, not to let his illness win.”
