It's not about the artist. It's about the crap. All of the crap that we have to see on this site and the others. "OMG Gaga Is A legend!" gets answered with "Gaga is over" and to see constant threads about the two subjects gives me a headache.

No other fanbase is so visibly ignorant. Even the Beyoncé fans, who have much more room to gloat, don't say 1/10th of the crap that Gaga fans do.


And people have been judging artists for how their fans act for ages. Look at how the Beetles were initially treated because of screaming teenage girls. I can guarantee that if Monsters cooled it down, they'd see Gaga hate threads nearly vanish

I never said it was okay. But not being okay doesn't stop it from being reality. It also doesn't have anything to do with Gaga personally. This is the Internet. More than that, it's fan base/single fans against another fanbase. It's annoying.

And what's actually ridiculous is to say that people against Gaga or any artist are haters or trolls. You can be critical without having an ounce of hate toward somebody

My mother and aunt were more outraged at Gaga winning than anybody on this site. Both being fans of AHS, they felt that Gaga was a huge letdown on her own and considering that she was essentially replacing Jessica Lange. It is completely fair to say she didn't deserve the GG when even a lot of her fans say that she only shows momentary brilliance and the general consensus is that she's bad at worse and passible at best. Kirsten Dunst for one, gave a performance that I never would have expected from her.

In closing, it's fine to ask whether public opinion has changed in her favor but it's a bit ludicrous to act like she still holds the cultural significance she did in 2010 or even 2013. The issue requires critical thinking. But that's for another time
