I want to live forever. I want to be immortal. Well long enough that I could live through the advancement of technology, see the universe for myself, travel to another planet like it is a scenic trip, talk to another intelligent life form.
... so many possibilities
I don't want to live forever, however, I do wish I could look 20 until I die.
The eternal pursuit of vanity.
Aging is not a disease, it's a natural consequence of our biology, our cells came with a clock attached to them and time runs out through your fingertips every second of every day.
And no matter where you run, what matter is what you do while your moment under the sun still lasts, because once the clock runs out, you will be gone and forgotten, back into nothingness, darkness, ash and naught. And a thousand more lives will take your place while the world spins round and 'round.
So worry not about living forever, chasing the impisobilities of tomorrow while your present is dust blowing in the wind.

What kind of Shakespeare level poetry
OT: Nature of life. Besides, even if immortality was somehow possible in the future, it is not feasible due to the problems it would create in regards to overpopulation etc.

I wanna agree and disagree. Lovely points though so don't take it the wrong way
You're correct, it's not a disease and it's a natural consequence. Our cells, however, don't necessarily come with a clock attached to them. If things go perfect we could live forever but because nothing is perfect then it happens. There are many causes of aging, all of them add together to cause us to whither away.

Start now. You have to get a script. My ENT recommended I start using it when I was 25, not because I had wrinkles, but because I couldn't believe he was 50 and looked 30. He used it. When I was in LA, people my age (late 20s), even at UMG, were getting botox, and it looked ridiculous. I started the Retin-A last year. In October, before I quit smoking (you have to be 18 to buy cigarettes here) I was getting carded every time I bought a pack. I never have even the occasional acne, shaving is easier, and I look younger now than I did in college. It's cheap, too.

I don't want to be immortal. I want to be able to die and then revive as a whole new person 'cause sometimes you messed up and I wanna go back to fix it.
I'm afraid I'm not unraveling the fabric of time and space with my comment.
Everyone needs to be mindful of the inescapable reality of our existences, they're brief, unconsequential, ephemeral and in the grand scheme of things irrelevant.
But for yourself, every breath you take is precious, eternal and as you exhale, remember it will never return to your lungs, time flows forward and never backwards, you were belched forth since your birth on a ride, ruthless, unwavering and unforgiving that will not stop to allow you catch your breath, and as the years go by, so will the chances of ever truly realizing what you spent years in your mind evading, running from and living. Live while life allows you to breathe.
