This forum puts too much emphasis on female artists. In the last 21 years a female artist has only had the best selling album of the year in the US just 8 times. It will be a 9th time once this year is included because Taylor is going to top it, or Adele. With Taylor and Adele being the biggest selling album artists in the US then females may head the list more times this decade too.

Using Slobro's method of:
Quote:
Since actual sales numbers for the top 50 are available I would've scored albums based on how many times they've outsold the #50 album of its year
For example, a #50 album gets assigned 10 points.
The 20/20 Experience in 2012 would then get (2427000/471000)*10 = 51.3 points
21 in 2011 would then get (5824000/498000)*10 = 116.95 points

Her utter dominance! Would be over 50% over the runner-up if it wasn't for Eminem.

2015 sales being only 20% of the 2000 sales.
more proofs.
only goes to show how huge Taylor and esp Adele are in an historical perspective
