Well first of all, it's Melissa McCarthy, so we already know it's gonna be hilarious! This movie is jam-packed with with action and comedy, and there are so many great one-liners in the mix. A surprisingly funny performance is given by Jason Statham. Anyway, Spy is my #1 movie of 2015 because it combines my two favorite genres in a a perfectly balanced and enjoyable film. P.S. Miranda Hart is ****ing hilarious!
I knew Tinashe could dance well, but this is just on another level! I love the simplicity of the white room she's in, which makes it look clean and modern but also keeps the focus on the dancing. I also love how it's set up kinda like a video game, and the addition of the girl as the fourth challenger makes for an interesting twist. Tinashe looks amazing as usual, and I really like the scenes of her on the bed-type thingy. I could have done without Chris, and would have preferred a solo edit of the video, but it doesn't take away from the greatness of it, as Chris is also a great dancer.
I watched half of the first Maze Runner and it was pretty good
Player's video isn't that great imo
Emotion at #2
DLMWL's video
Style is amazing
Good For You
This isn't really a surprise, is it? We waited over 7 years for this album and Janet was sure she didn't disappoint us with another Discipline. Unbreakable is the type of wisdom-laden album a pop veteran should be making (take notes, Madge). I love that she doesn't try to hop trends or fit in with the young crowd with this album, but rather modernize her classic sound. Obviously Jimmy and Terry did an amazing job with Janet, but honestly I wasn't expecting it to be this good! On top of all that, it debuted at #1 over 100k so I couldn't be more happy. I hope "Dammn Baby" is a single, as I could actually see it catching on with a great viral video. Queen of music!
I fell in love with this song the second I heard it! "Run Away With Me" sort of captures you in its euphoric feeling, and makes you feel as if your rushing along because the song is always driving forward in an anticipatory way. The sax is just beautiful and the production is top-notch. How this didn't become a huge hit is beyond me and one of the biggest injustices of pop music in recent memory. Whether it was a hit or not, however, doesn't change the fact that it's one of the best pop songs of all-time. Poor Taylor.
2. Demi Lovato "Cool for the Summer"
"Cool for the Summer" set my hopes high for Demi's then-upcoming fifth album. While the album didn't exactly deliver, this single did. I still am in awe that Demi crafted such an amazing electro-pop banger. While some people may disagree with me, I personally love this song because it comes across as effortlessly sexy and powerful. Obviously Demi also sounds great and the instrumental is just as amazing and entertaining on its own as well.
1. Major Lazer f/ MØ & DJ Snake "Lean On"
"Lean On" is the epitome of EDM perfection. The production is sleek and clean and innovative in a genre where oftentimes every song ends up sounding the same. MØ is a great addition to the song, and the lyrics are somewhat meaningful, which is nice for a change. "Lean On" definitely has my favorite breakdown of the year, and it isn't overdone or overemphasized. Overall this song is a great balance of all the key factors of great pop music and it's super enjoyable, so that's why it's my #1 single of 2015.
