Time's starting to run out, supa...

Tick tock, tick tock...deadline's fast approaching.

Beginning to wonder, though, if I should have waited until after Best Of fever dies down for the deadline, though.

...okay, I can already sense that, with Best Of mania going on, there's no chance in hell of there being a sudden rush of rates, and there's still, honestly, not enough rates to really go forward with. So, here's what I'm going to do: I'm going to extend the deadline to December 30th at 11:59pm US Eastern. That way, by the time the actual countdown begins, it should be 2016, allowing the list to take on a "10th Anniversary"-type of feel, anyway. If all else fails, I may enlist the help of someone who knows a thing or two about doing one of these rates to really get this moving. We'll see what happens.

Now let's just act like that was the plan all along.

Just to be fair, one more time, we're pushing the deadline back for those who STILL have not sent in their rates to January 31st. And I fully intend on sending reminders for some people to send in their rates. This means you, Ace. Enough is enough.

EDIT: I may push the deadline up to an earlier date if I start getting some more rates. As of right now, I have 11, including mine.

Here's some good news: I just now decided to finally get started on the calculation/tabulating process for the top 50. Took me long enough, right? I've noticed multiple rates with .5 ratings. At this point, I'm just going to allow "?.5" ratings, because I don't want to go through the hassle of asking people to send in an updated rate with no decimals.

A couple other things that I've noticed through 11 rates:
- The song that I thought would be at the very bottom is, indeed, at the bottom. The song that I thought would be second-bottom is actually doing better than I expected. Not EXTRAORDINARILY better or anything like that, but better.
- The song that I thought would be at the top is in the top 5...but not #1. The song that I considered as "the main competition" for that top song is not even in the top 10.
- Seven songs have a cumulative rating of 8.0 or better. Five songs have a cumulative rating below 5.
- IIRC, two songs have multiple "0/10" ratings. Both songs are not in the bottom five. (One is even doing decently well.)
- The most divisive song of the rate so far is...not the song I expected, I'll put it to you that way.


It really was a different time. There were much fewer members and a greater percentage of rock fans (MUCH greater) than there is today. I'm not sure if "Move Along" would have *sniffed* the top 10 had these songs been released in 2015, for example.

As an aside, I genuinely won't care if you give bad ratings to most/almost all of the Alt/Rock songs (lord knows that, with some of the songs, I understand), but so help me, there's one that you BETTER not hate.
