They are not saying it is ''true'', they are saying that the perception DOES exist. Not that it is right or wrong. it is there, it's a PROBLEM, and it's probably not going away anytime soon. Consensus reality DOES NOT mean truth. That is a fact. He clearly stated in several posts that gay men can not be masculine because that is what society has decided, therefore it's true.

He said ''the closest we can get to the truth'' NOT the truth itself. I believe the poster does not think that to be the actual truth, as you don't either! That's society's perception, not the truth. Society collectively thinks gays aren't masculine because liking men in itself is not a masculine trait - again, as society decided. Idg what's so hard to understand.
