Woman slashed in face by homeless man in Manhattan furious he was on the streets despite 32 prior arrests
Kari Bazemore, the suspect in a Chelsea slashing yesterday, is escorted from the 13th Precinct in Manhattan by detectives Thursday night.

The crazed homeless man who slashed a young woman across the face shouldn’t have been loose on the streets, his shaken victim said Thursday.
Amanda Morris, 24, who suffered the violent assault while walking to work in Manhattan the day before, could barely speak without blood bubbling from the stitches around her mouth.
“I think he should be behind bars for a long time,” she said of homeless man Kari Bazemore, 41.
“Because he's done this before and he was arrested initially and they apparently let him go. And I don't understand why,” she told the Daily News from her Brooklyn apartment.
She added, “I just felt like I was kind of robbed. He should have been behind bars by now. Because he's been arrested like 32 times.'

Morris told the Daily News her alleged attacker should have been behind bars with his lengthy rap sheet.

Bazemore has a lengthy criminal history with 32 arrests dating back to the 1990s, police said. Many of the arrests were for public nuisance issues, such as public urination and minor marijuana possession.
In 2013, he was arrested for forcible touching in Manhattan and was charged with grand larceny last February.
On Dec. 30, the career criminal was busted for randomly punching a woman on East 8th St.
Police said they’re looking at a series of specific cases — slashings and one punching — to see if Bazemore has any connection to other incidents.
