I was looking through the TW2007 rate and the way Raising Sand was dragged I was crying nn, I wish I could have participated, it deserved better than that!
But it had me thinking, we never finished the TW2014 series, and I don't think TW2013 even got off the ground? I know we're expecting the ones for 2015, but hopefully we can get those ones going too.
I have questions like how do I start a rate, what would I need to do exactly, when should I plan it, etc.? Cause I have an idea or two.
You should think of a rate you want to host. Then post your idea here and Ace will tell you if you can do it or not. If he says yes then you can open a thread about the rate with all the rules and stuff.
By the way Ace, is there a way I could host the official Eurovision Song Contest rate in May? I was thinking of including all the top 5 songs from 2004 to 2016 (so 66 songs in total, since two songs were tied at #5 in 2004).
The unofficial rate in the ESC 2016 thread attracted 16 participants and it had different methodology (it was like a real Eurovision: 2 semi finals, one final, and points from 1 to 12 for the top ten favorite songs only). The demand seems to be there, can I please host it?
Update! If, for some reason CRJ is not in the top ten/top five of females in this year's Pazz & Jop poll, she will be part of Blame Canada: emotion v. Beauty Behind the Madness v. Purpose v. If You're Reading Zthis, I's Too Late. Pretty sure that won't happen though! (Would love for Art Angels to be a part, but Grimes will definitely be top five.)
All of them took a long break since 2012 and made their grand return to the pop scene (be it commercially or critically). We can throw in ANTI too if it's acclaimed.
